About

We are a membership organisation that helps Christians engaged in all forms of education to thrive professionally and spiritually.

Who we are

From nursery teachers to university lecturers, TAs to governors, ACT exists to help Christian educators live boldly for Christ, lead effectively in their professional lives, and thrive in their places of education.

What we do

We are a Christian membership organisation that provides professional and spiritual support to Christians engaged in pre-school, primary, middle, secondary, special, college and university education in the UK, whether in a voluntary or paid capacity. We do that by connecting, resourcing and influencing:

Connect

We unite Christians from every area of education to support one another and share best practice.

Who’s involved

Our directors all work (or have worked) in schools across the UK and beyond, whether in a voluntary capacity or as an employee.

They are made up of chaplains, governors, teachers and church workers and represent a range of church backgrounds, as well as having experience in both the state and independent education sector. What unites them all though, is their desire to support Christians in our nation’s schools.

FAQs

Do you only work with teachers?

No, we seek to support all Christians working in Education, be it in a voluntary or paid capacity.

I'm not a teacher but I am a school governor. Can I join?

Yes, you can! So can teaching assistants, lecturers, inspectors, diocesan and local authority education advisors, schools workers and more.

Yes you can!

What about students?

Student teachers are welcome to join and can access the full benefits of membership for a discounted subscription.

Are you a trade union?

No, we are not a trade union. We do not offer legal advice and our support should not be a substitute for such advice.

ACT cannot endorse one particular trade union.

Are you a campaigning/lobbying group?

Whilst we may support our members in their own efforts to influence policy in light of Christian principles, we are not a lobbying group.
