The National Union of Teachers is accused of supporting an event where a series of speakers, including a banned school governor, are expected to defend the Trojan Horse plot.

Kevin Courtney, the general secretary of the NUT, will appear alongside Tahir Alam, the former chair of governors at Park View school and alleged ringleader of the Trojan Horse plot who was accused of orchestrating a plan to promote Islamist religious teaching in schools.
