Lack of school places coming to Wales.

Lack of school places coming to Wales.

A growing population and an increase in house building in some parts of Wales is contributing to a shortage of school places in those areas.

Cardiff council has warned there was an "imminent lack" of school places while Pembrokeshire council said schools faced "increasing pressure".

Both councils are putting forward ideas to address the issue.

Meanwhile in other areas of Wales a problem of empty desks has seen school closures.

The National Association for Headteachers (NAHT) said ensuring enough places was "hugely challenging".
