Overview

The School Business Head (SBH) is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), working alongside the Head of Nursery, the Head of Primary and the Head of Senior School to energise and enable the processes of school development and effective operation. He or she will report to the Governing Body and will:

• Be a driver of school development, especially in building stakeholder relationships to promote school growth
• Have excellent IT, organisational and efficient office management skills
• Be able to lead and line manage a team of support staff
• Be a change agent by researching and initiating appropriate school improvement actions
• Have strong communication skills both orally and in writing to interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Be able to demonstrate capability with overseeing and maintaining premises of the school

Job Purpose

1. The School Business Head is the school’s leading support staff professional and works as part of the Senior Management Team to assist the Head Teachers in their duty to ensure that the school meets its educational aims.

2. The School Business Head is responsible for providing professional leadership and management of school support staff in partnership with teaching staff, to enhance their effectiveness in order to achieve improved standards of learning and achievement in the school.

 3. The School Business Head promotes the highest standards of the school and business ethos within the administrative function of the school and undertakes strategic financial planning that ensures the most effective use of resources in support of the school’s learning objectives.

4. The School Business Head is responsible for the non-educational functions of the school including the Financial Resources, General Administration, Management Information Systems and ICT, Human Resources, Facility & Property Management, Health & Safety, Marketing and Website of the School.

Previous experience as a School Business Manager is not essential – however the successful candidate will be required to prove a high level of transferable skills.

Working Hours:                 Full time – all year – permanent

Start Date:                          1st September 2016

Salary:                                 Circa £40,000 depending on experience

Closing date:                      3rd June May 2016
