Faith in Schools wishes to appoint a full-time Schools Worker (5 days per week).

Faith in Schools is an East London charity which supports the teaching of Christianity in Newham’s primary and secondary schools by providing high quality RE lessons, enabling pupils to meet a range of Christians from different cultures and denominations. We also support churches in putting on events for schools, such as the Easter Experience and Christmas Journey. The Schools Worker would plan, prepare and lead a team of volunteers from local churches in teaching Christianity in RE lessons in Newham schools.

The Schools Worker would also support churches in hosting events for schools. They would work alongside the schools team under the leadership of the Schools Team Leader. Hours: 5 days per week in term time. 3 month probationary contract at first, which if the person appointed is successful in the role a permanent contract will be offered.

Starting 1st September 2017 to 1st December 2017.

Salary paid monthly by direct debit payments of £1666.66-£1933.75 before tax, pension and NI is taken off (depending on the applicants’ experience). A day’s work is viewed as a minimum of 7-8 hours of work. Previous teaching experience in schools essential as a teacher, HLTA or children’s worker. A DBS advanced disclosure is essential. Along with a UK passport or valid documents to show you can legally work in the UK.
