Some parents frightened of school.

 

Some parents are put off engaging with their children’s education because of their own bad school experiences.

That’s what North East head teachers have said, as education experts call on the Government to do more to encourage adults to get involved in their child’s schooling.

Regional education charity Schools North East (SNE) says it’s proven that parental involvement boosts children’s achievement.

According to SNE, parents are often more involved at primary level but begin to drift away as their children start secondary school.
