ATL Pre-Conference Service Sunday 3rd April Liverpool.

ATL Pre-Conference Service Sunday 3rd April Liverpool.

ATL Pre-Conference Church Service St James in the City Sunday 3rd April 2016 6.30 p.m. ATL has been invited to Liverpool’s St James in the City Church for the 2016 pre-Conference Service. This service will be somewhat different from those in recent years; a little less formal and in an unusual environment. St James in the City is a vibrant inner city church, with a congregation largely comprising students and young families. Their regular Sunday meeting is at 4.00 p.m, and our ATL service will follow at 6.30 p.m, led jointly by the St James worship team and members of ATL. The service will provide the opportunity to reflect on the needs of Education and to pray specifically for the work of Conference. The original church building dates from 1775. Having been closed in the 1970s it was reopened in 2010, but with the building in a semiderelict condition a marquee was erected within the church to allow the resumption of worship. A larger marquee has recently been installed. Warning: St James has only one self composting toilet so the advice is “Go before you come”. Transport: Coaches to the Church will be provided from the Conference Centre at 6.00 pm. After the service, which will last about one hour, coaches will return to all the hotels. St James Church is located on Upper Parliament Street, near and to the south of the Anglican Cathedral. Tea, coffee, fruit juice and biscuits will be available for those arriving early or those wishing to stay for a chat after the service. A warm invitation is extended to other local Christians concerned with education, whether or not members of ATL, to join with us in this service.
